A common debate between pros and noobs alike is which is better, the m4 or the ak? Well I'm going to break down the two here, and see if you can come to your own conclusion.
M4A1- The M4, or Colt, is a strong .223 cal gun that holds a 30 round clip, and is one the the CT's primary weapons. The M4 alone is very strong from close or far range. It typically takes more than one round in the head to kill someone, but it all depends on the distance you are shooting from. The M4 also comes with a silencer, which is another topic of debate to be tackled another time. The silencer decreases recoil, but also significantly decreases power. In most cases, I would recommend getting used to the M4 unsilenced, as it is significantly stronger, and thus requires less bullets to get the job done. The only time in which I would suggest using the silencer is, well, if you are trying to be silent. If you are hiding somewhere that you expect a lot of terrorists to pass and you do not want to be detected, use the silencer. I also like to use the silencer if I am watching an area where I expect close combat. I may not get the kill right away, but hopefully I will injure the group rushing in for my teamates to easily clean up.
AK47- The AK is the terrorists M4, in that it holds a 30 round clip of the powerful 7.62x39mm cal. It has a larger amount of recoil, but is useful in close and far combat. The AK will typically be a one shot head-shot kill, which makes it deadly in any circumstance. Most would expect that the high recoil would be a deterrant to a close-range gun, but if you aim lower then the recoil will bring you right to the head of the counter-terrorist.
But the question remains: which is better? I have often comtemplated the same question, and cannot come to a decisive answer. Both are so similar that if a CT with an M4 were against a T with an AK, a flip of a coin would be required to determine the winner. Although I cannot decide which I prefer, I find myself picking up M4's as a terrorist as often as possible, and picking up the AK as CT's. Although it is impossible, it is as if the opposite gun is stronger in the wrong hands. Plus it is funny to kill your opponent with their own gun.
I can't come to a decision, but can you? Post here so that we can mull it over. I realize that a recent poll has been posted in the forums about this very thing, but I figured I would elaborate and give both sides of the spectrum.

Its all about the player and the situation. M4 is MUCH better for close range because of its easy spray, AK is MUCH better for long range because of the capability to one-shot them. If you spray in general (me) use an M4, if you snipe, strafe with an AK.
I agree with what you said about the M4 silenced as well, and I too like it silenced at close range.

I also feel like using an AK with CT and Colt with T makes me play better and I have often heard this sentiment echoed. Any idea why this is?
