As some of you may or may not have known, as of about a week or so ago, I was invited to Spawnpoints Anti-Cheat Task Force. This is something that I have wanted to be in since before I was in DA. Well, the first day that I loaded up Outlook and took a look at my inbox, I was shocked. I had recieved a whooping 48 emails, and a good portion of them were demos. Thats a fair amount more than my typical 4-5. I was excited to get crackn, so I spent the next couple of hours viewing demos, and asking cpnichol about 50 or so questions. There is a lot more to banning people than I though. First you have to watch the demo, sometimes several times, to figure out what hack they are using. Then you have to take their steam ID and check it against the global ban list to see if they are already banned. Third, you must add them to the ban list. After that, you have to send a confirmation email to the person who submit the demo. My CTRL+C and CTRL+V is really taking a beating now. Not to say I don't really enjoy adding punks to the global ban list, but I now have a new appreciation of what all the other Anti Cheat team has done.
