Well as some of you may know, I am a huge UFC and MMA fan. I have been watching the UFC since it first came out in November of 1993. I also am a former practicioner of Martial Arts, and I'm looking to pick that up again.
What I've decided I'm going to do, is post a little bit about the upcomming UFC events roughly a week in advance. I'll give my picks and explanation why, and then you can post why you agree or disagree. I won't post information about the undercards, because usually they are up and comming stars that I am unaware of.
Mike Nickels vs Stephan Bonnar- Bonnar is back from is suspension after Nevada found him to be using HGH. I'm glad to see him back and I pick him to win by TKO probably early in the 2nd.
Heath Herring vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira- Nogeuira is a former champion over at PRIDE in Japan, and I am very happy to see him in the cage. I see him dominating all around to get a decision win.
Hermes Franca vs Sean Sherk (Lightwight Title Fight)- Gotta give this one to Sherk, his brute strength and hard head will stop Franca's Jiu Jistu, and the fight will be stopped via KO in the 2nd.
Rashad Evans vs Tito Ortiz- I have always been an Ortiz fan, and I am sticking to it. Evans is an excellent wrestler, but will lose to Ortiz's better wrestling and outstanding conditioning. I'm picking Rashad tapping out in the 3rd.
Alvin Robinson vs Kenny Florian- Robinson is an unknown fighter, but has an impressive record. However, I am picking Florian to win via tapout in the first, because his fights are always impressive and his jiu jitsu is getting much better.
Nate Marquardt vs Anderson Silva- Silva has his hands full, but his devastating standup should be able to stop the well-rounded Marquardt early in the fight. I am saying Silva wins by KO due to knees in the first.
