This is an opinion of mine and has no technical accuracies. I am refering to the stuff that doesnt need water at all, but comes in little bottles and is used on a regular basis.
Everyone has seen it. It is in our schools, our hospitals, our resturants, and our houses, but is it really as good as many think? Of course I am talking about the anti-bacterial liquid. Not the kind of soap that you use to wash up, but the stuff that I see people carrying around with them everywhere. Many think that this is ingenious, and will lead to a healthier life. However, myself and a few of my friends think completely the opposite.
Before I go into details I want to let you know that I am a clean person, just don't look at my room. I wash my hands before I eat, and if I am dirty, or if I have to handle food at one of my jobs. However, I refuse to use the quick solution of using the anti-bacterial wash. "Why?" you may ask, "It kills 99.9% of germs" That is true, it does a dandy job of getting rid of germs. But my reasoning lies in the germ itself.
It is a scientific fact that the germ is adaptable. The germ will enter the body and make you sick. Your body then works to get rid of the germ, and become immune to it. You know have built up an immunity to that specific germ, and the chances of you getting sick from it again in the near future are less likely. But the germ is not done yet, it will mutate. The germ mutates to a form unrecognizable to the body, and then will get you sick again. Again, your body must fight this new form of the germ. And the process continues and the germ keeps finding ways to slip in and get past your immune system.
What does this all have to do with anti-bacterial wash? Well it may not happen now, but the germs will find a way to adapt to the wash. This germ will be stronger than your regular germ, and attack the immune system that has been weakend by the anti-bacterial wash. I believe that it will take nothing short of an acid bath or flames to stop this germ.
Before you get crazy, I want to tell you that I am not crazy. I do not live in a bubble, I do not wash my hands 50 times a day, I live a normal life and only bring up this topic as a conversation piece and figured I would post it here.
Your thoughts?....
Well I finally got the Orange Box. I went to circuit city where I only payed $39.81. Right now it says that it has to verify my purchase, which could take up to 4 hours. I find this to be a little weird because I checked steampowered.com and they said that it may have to process my credit card. Thing is, I bought it in a store, not online. I just want to get playing, I actually woke up semi-early to get this thing.
Well, I have came to an executive decision that I am going to get Team Fortress 2 when it comes out on October 10th. The only question I have is does anyone know if I have to get the Orange Box? I do not really want the Orange Box, all I want is Team Fortress, does anyone know if I can just get Team Fortress? Can I get it at a store or do I have to buy it online?
This morning in between classes, I decided to play a little cs. I joined the UK Assault server, as it was full and I wanted to play humans. I don't usually play the UK servers because my ping is bad and because they could be cussing up a storm and I wouldn't know.
Anyway, I joined with a different name to see this one guy go around the swear filter, and I warned him about it. He then said something to the point of seeing someones mother last night using some off-color language. Again, I warned him and stated it was his final warning. Sure enough, a few rounds later he said he got so excited one round that he....well...he did something in his pants (I won't repeat it) I then subsequentially kicked him for it.
He returns a huffy, saying that I was pathetic for kicking him. I then changed my name to [PHXX]Ghost and told him to feel free to report me to the abuse team. He then said something about the server logs, and continued to say that the kick was unjustified, saying that he did not go around the swear filter. I remained calm and said that he was warned twice for his language. He then said I was a communist, and said "what is this, russia?" To which half the server laughed, because the USSR no longer exists.
Well the complaining continued, and I began to get frustrated. I said that your arguing a mute point, because you broke the rules and I warned you twice about it before kicking. He still seemed to think that the logs would defend his case, and again I gave him the abuse email, and my real first name. The guy then went on to call me petty and all that jibber-jabber.
It was just frustrating to have someone argue with me, even though I was more than leinient.
